P2P matching vs bookmaker vs pools
TakePair matches two players on opposite sides of the same event. That is different from a sportsbook that prices a house line, and different from a shared pool or AMM that sets prices continuously.
Peer-to-peer match
When your order matches, another user holds the opposite stake. The platform fee comes from the winning side of that match. There is no house inventory on the matched trade.
Bookmaker
A bookmaker takes the other side and manages risk with odds and limits. You bet against the house book, not against a specific counterparty order.
Pools and AMM-style markets
Polymarket-style venues and AMMs often price shares in a pool. Liquidity and price discovery work differently from a discrete UP/DOWN order that waits for a taker.
What to remember on TakePair
You choose UP or DOWN at a stake you set. Settlement follows the oracle rules for that event. Unmatched orders can be cancelled; matched ones settle between the two sides.
